The issue of deepfakes is also on the rise, and it has become a cause for concern among female streamers and content creators. Deepfakes are graphic images or videos created using artificial intelligence that manipulate or alter existing footage to create fake and explicit content. On January 30th, a clip claiming to “expose” a streamer for looking at deepfakes of other streamers went viral. The clip showed the streamer briefly accessing a website that sells access to deepfake images and videos of female Twitch streamers, including Pokimane, Maya Higa, and QTCinderella.

Sources close to Imane Anys state that the streamer is working with her female friends to not only ban revenge porn but also regulate the use of artificial intelligence tools and outlaw explicit deepfake content. The move to regulate deepfakes and make them illegal is aimed at protecting the privacy and dignity of individuals, especially female content creators, who are often targeted by those who seek to exploit and harm them.
