Rumours are floating around that Pokimane is losing subscribers and viewers because she reportedly has a boyfriend, but that’s just not true.

The 24-year-old world famous Twitch streamer whose real name is Imane Anys was recently targeted by a popular commentary commentator known as Leafy. The video suggested that the Pokimane had a boyfriend and that she had no intention on revealing that information.

“If you ever happen to come across one of her big time fans on your way to the grocery store or whatnot, be sure to remind them that she has a boyfriend, because I think that they would really love to hear that little piece of information,” Leafy said in his YouTube video entitled Content Nuke: Pokimane.”

Imane “Pokimane” Anys subs are steadily growing even after the popular Twitch streamer went on her break.

During the weekend the hashtag #pokimaneboyfriend was trending which prompted the Moroccan-Canadian Twitch streamer to respond.

She jokingly tweeted a picture of herself with a cardboard cutout of Barrack Obama claiming that the 43rd president of the United States was her secret boyfriend.

Outraged fans accused Pokimane of being “fake” and exploiting lonely men for their money. Some of these anonymous Twitter accounts claimed to be tier 3 subscribers and said that they will be immediately canceling their subscriptions.

However, it seems that most of these tweets were coming from trolls who were not actually subscribed to her Twitch channel.

Pokiman tier 3 subscriptions aren’t cheap. They cost USD$24.95 per month and only come with a few extra perks. But then again, people who are willing to spend that much are probably not doing it for the perks, but the entertainment.

Regardless, several websites published articles claiming that, according to Social Blade, Pokimane’s Twitch channel took a massive hit the day after Leafy dropped his “Content Nuke” video. A report shows that Pokimane average viewership dropped by 99% the following day, but apparently that was just a glitch. Social Blade have since updated their reports and it shows that channel grew significantly that day.

Although heavily speculated, Pokimane has not confirmed whether or not she actually has a boyfriend and in, spite of this fact, her channel has not taken a hit.
